Goddesses among us: Jennifer Lawrence

She is a head turner for all the right reasons, currently one of the most well known actresses around. She's no legend yet, but at the tender age of 24, she is not far off.

6 years ago Jennifer Lawrence was a relatively anonymous in the public eye, just another aspiring actress with high hopes of taking the world by storm. Now 6 years down the line and this one time dream is now a very distinct reality. After starring in many blockbuster films such as American hustle, X-Men: first class and the critically acclaimed Hunger games film series, she has really cemented herself a place as one of the most recognised faces in the world. Her jaw dropping displays have not gone unseen however: she currently boasts 3 academy awards to her name, surely just a few of many to come.
Her success and rise to fame has not only seen her recognised as a great actor. Time named her one of the most influential people in the world. As well as this she was ranked No.1 most desirable women of the year. And if that wasn't enough in 2014 FHM readers voted Lawrence No.1 on their prestigious sexiest women in the world list. Her world class displays have also seen her become the second highest  paid actress in the world, only seconded to  the ever aging Sandra Bullock. High amount of praise  has also come from the acting community. Actor Donald Sutherland has described her as an "exquisite and brilliant actor." Film director David O. Russell praises her efforts and has said that her acting make her performances look easy. She may only be 24 years of age, but judging by her dynamic start to her career, she will be a goddess for years to come.

Amusing Article - English homework

If you have ever considered getting a permanent tattoo and want to get a temporary henna tattoo to see what it looks like, you definitely SHOULDN'T.

So the other day I saw a man walking down the street and it is fair to say that he was a head turner for all the wrong reasons. No it wasn't because of his barbaric hairstyle or his collection of piercings however sporadically spread they were on his face. No, what struck me about this certain man was his large array of tattoos that covered him from top to toe. Now personally I don't see the appeal in covering your body in tattoos, the thought of being a pensioner covered in wrinkly 'art' will probably always be enough to put me off. However seeing that man did take me back to a distinct childhood memory of mine that occurred when I was on holiday in Majorca.

At the tender age of seven years old me and my family were walking down the harbour side of the popular Spanish island of Majorca. Like any family holiday destinations the streets are out swarmed by typical low budget stalls- most commonly selling cliche souvenirs that will be thrown away years down the line. We did stop at one stall however that did these henna tattoos. Now as a seven year old boy the concept of a henna tattoo was very appealing and after asking for my parents permission, they allowed me to get one done on my left arm. The man who did the tattoo, seemed like a very nice chap and you couldn't imagine anything he said would be false information, however, this was not the case.

15 minutes down the line and the tattoo was finished with my eyes glowing down at it with utter delight. Despite the tattoo being complete the ink was not yet dry. My dad asked the man how long the tattoo would take to dry, the tattooist confidently told us it would take around ten minutes to dry. 10 minutes later and the henna tattoo seemed relatively dry so we carried on with the rest of the night blissfully unaware of what the consequences of the night would result to in the morning so without any question we went back to our apartment and went to sleep.

The next morning I had slept on my left arm , coincidently the arm that my henna tattoo was on and guess what, the tattooist lied. The ink was not yet dried and this made it smudge on to my face. I know what your thinking, two tattoos for the price of one. That may have been the case however the tattoo on my face was almost impossible to remove. When we did eventually get the henna tattoo off my face it left a massive red mark on my face that was not only extremely painful but also stayed on the face for the remainder of  the holiday.

There can only be one moral that you can take from this rather unfortunate story, never trust owners of market stalls of any calibre.
